Pisse-Dru

The history of "Pisse-Dru" is a bit like the history of Beaujolais.

The origins of the vineyard date back to the Middle Ages.

But it was not until 1955 that the wines took on a name that was out of the ordinary, taking up a very old expression dear to the winegrowers of the region: over there, at harvest time, they say that the grapes "pee thick" when they release their juice in abundance.

Committed to promoting their know-how, the winegrowers spared no effort and even saved the ancestral tradition of Beaujolais primeurs, while a decree on the date of marketing of the wine threatened to make it disappear. But thanks to their mobilization, this historical specificity of the vineyard will finally be made official, and this is how the annual celebration of "Beaujolais Nouveau" will see the light of day.
